epd logoA new PCR for lifts was published on October 29th, 2020 by The International EPD® System (https://www.environdec.com/PCR/Detail/?Pcr=18369). This new PCR will enable new EPDs of lifts to comply with the European standard EN 15804:2012+A2:2019 (called EN 15804 for short)

In July 2019, the European Lift Association (ELA) initiated the development of the new PCR for lifts, c-PCR-008 Lifts (elevators). This PCR was developed in an open, transparent, and participatory process supported by ELA and other stakeholders who participated in the process and contributed to the development of this PCR. Several rounds of comments were performed during the open consultation phase coordinated by Nikolay Minkov (greenzero.me GmbH) who acted as PCR moderator on the behalf of ELA. The validity of the new PCR ends on December 20th, 2024.

This PCR has replaced the expired stand-alone PCR for lifts (PCR 2015:05). The first PCR for lifts (https://www.environdec.com/PCR/Detail/?Pcr=9211) had been published on October 14th, 2015. Its validity ended on October 14th, 2020. Since its publication, 18 EPDs of lifts were published following this PCR.

Product Category Rules (PCR) are documents that provide rules, requirements, and guidelines for developing an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for a specific product category. An EPD is an independently verified and registered document that communicates transparent and comparable information about the life-cycle environmental impact of products.
